3 Steps To Always Win Amazon's Buy Box

The "Buy Box" is the white box on the right side of the Amazon product detail page. This is where customers can add items for purchase to their cart or buy them instantly.


82% of Amazon sales go through the Buy Box, and the percentage is even higher for mobile purchases.


Because the vast majority of sales on Amazon happen in the Buy Box, sellers that know how to "win" in the Buy Box are the most successful on Amazon.


A lot of people over complicate the Buy Box and that's why there can be hundreds of people selling a specific product on Amazon but only a handful of sellers actually getting sales.


Winning the Buy Box is actually quite simple.


3 Steps To Always Win Amazon's Buy Box


  1. Sell New - You need to be selling new products to win the Buy Box. Used products will not show up in the Buy Box.

  2. Sell FBA - Most shoppers on Amazon are looking for fast and reliable shipping from Amazon Prime. Amazon wants to give customers what they are looking for and thus only let Prime Sellers win the Buy Box. Anyone reading this can be a Prime Seller as long as they use FBA (Fulfilled By Amazon) to warehouse, ship, and support their product.

  3. Match The Buy Box Price - There are a lot of people that suggest dropping your price by a few cents or playing other games with price to get more sales but remember, 82% of sales are happening in the Buy Box. In order to get in the Buy Box, you need to list your product for the same price that Amazon is showing in the Buy Box. If your price is less or more, you will not win the Buy Box.

So that's it! Follow these three steps and you will almost always win the Buy Box which means you will be positioned to get 82% of the sales that happen on Amazon.
